A point was
raised at a past AGM about the possibility of putting the issues discussed by the
committee at our meetings into The
Wanderer fanzine
so that the members could be made aware of what we have discussed. Below are the
key points spoken about at our recent AGM's.
Committee Present Teresa Slevin (Chairperson), Ian Mobsby, Bruce Jacob, Emma Hoing, Colin
Butler, Darren Fallaize, Phil Slatter, Sue Seymour, Steve Davis.
Committee Absent Ted Wheller
Members Attending 8
The AGM opened at 8.05pm
Teresa opened the AGM by welcoming the members present at the
meeting.
Teresa informed the membership that the committee were all planning
to stay for another year with the exception of Phil Smith who has
stepped down due to family commitments. Teresa thanked Phil for all
his help during the last year with the footy team.
Teresa welcomed Steve Davis as our new football manager for
WWISC FC,
he has previous experience in this role through managing a Sunday
league side.
Teresa also stated that if anyone was interested in
playing for WWISC, they should contact the committee or email us via the web
site.
Teresa informed the members that roles within the committee were to
stay the same. As all the committee are voted in for a period of
time.
Teresa invited Iain Lewis to talk about the accounts. Some of the
points that Iain mentioned were – overall our income was very good,
profit was down but this was due to the purchasing of 500 shares and
also our Mark Philo memorial trophy (two items which are ongoing
investments for the club). We are making a slight loss on the travel
but Iain’s opinion was that it is important to continue the travel
as it is why WWISC was formed. Iain also stated that that we are
very good with our donations to charity £517.50 was donated last
season. Iain spoke about the web site, sponsorship of Russell Martin
and how the parking was a nice form of income for the club. Over all
Iain was very pleased with the accounts and they are in very good
health.
Accounts Proposed by Iain Lewis.
Accepted by Martin Hamilton.
Teresa informed the members that coach prices would have to increase
due to fuel and coach tax.
Teresa spoke about the money raised for the Mark Philo Fund going
towards a bench in the cemetery.
News from the FSF, Problems still with the MK Dons. There is an
issue that has arisen from the meetings regarding under 18’s
travelling to away games unaccompanied, until more has been decided
we are to carry on as normal. Ian Blacklidge has stepped down from
his role.
Teresa thanked Martin for all his help with the FSF.
Phil spoke about the
fanzine, all is well £600 from advertising last
season and now £900.
The mag is changing a little, look out for the
new issue at the Peterborough game.
Teresa thanked Phil for all his hard work over the last season.
Membership stands at 126, best ever for the time of year. Prices
have increased for adult but have been reduced for concessions.
Students will only be allowed discounted travel if they have valid
I’D.
WWISC will confirm if it is worth running a coach to MK Dons
after the members voting on the matter. 16 Yes, 6 No, 2 said yes we
should run a coach but they wouldn’t travel on it.
A.O.B
Teresa thanked all the committee for their hard work over the past
year, Nick for all his work on the website. Also Jed who has helped
Ted in Darren's absence with the parking and Gill who helps Colin
with the coach bookings.
Teresa sent Phil Smith a letter thanking him for all his help with
arranging the football games between us and other clubs.
Ian
Mobsby has now completed his third and final year as Chairman of
WWISC and has handed the role over to Teresa
Slevin for her
to continue Ian has agreed to remain on the committee and help with whatever
he can.
We
welcome Sue
Seymour to the
committee as the new Treasurer. We wish her well in her new role (it's
good to see the numbers of the female side of the committee growing!).
Colin
has asked that members try and book onto the away
day coaches
as early as they can as it is much easier for him to find smaller
transportation at the last minute if less people travel, than having to find
a large coach due to more people having decided to travel.
If you
are interested in playing for the WWISC
football team
please stop at the table and leave your details with the committee. Phil
Smith is
always on the look-out for new team members who are available on a Saturday
morning. The WWISC
football team is
open to all members of either sex or age. Matches are played on the pitches
next to John Lewis and the BMX track.
The new
WWISC website (wwisc.co.uk) will be launched soon which we hope you
will find interesting. If you have any suggestions for the site, please contact
us with your ideas.
The
South Bucks Hospice will once again be the charity we shall support this
year. Last season we were able to give them a cheque for £500 and a signed
Chelsea shirt for them to auction at one of their fundraising evenings. They
were very grateful for this as they do a very kind and loving job without
huge funds.
Sponsorship
will continue with Mark Philo this season.
WWISC,
together with the Official Supporters Club, hold meetings with WWFC
to discuss issues raised by the fans. If you have anything you would like us
to mention on your behalf, please contact
us and we'll
pass on your thoughts.
