| It is with our deepest regret that we bring you news of the death of Mark Philo. Following a car accident in the early hours of this morning, Mark later died in hospital. It was at the request of Mark's family that today's game still went ahead, and the other players were not told of this tragic news until after the game. WWISC, and all of it's members, would like to offer our sincere condolences to
Mark's family and friends. |

Wycombe
fans spotted in New Zealand
The following message
was sent in by WWISC member Neil Young who lives in Auckland, New Zealand:
"So
I'm stopped at an intersection in downtown Auckland (only just missed the green) and I spies 2 blokes wearing WWFC shirts. Sarah was with me
[the girlfriend] so got her to take a photo (as I was a bit in shock) and as they crossed the road I was going to shout something at them when I recognises one was my mate Lofty. I pulls over and turns out they (him & his mate
Russell who I didn't know) were about to fly back to the UK that night after travelling
for 3 months. What are the chances of that !??!?"

Neil is
in the middle - I'm not sure which one Lofty is though!
(I'm now told he's the one on the left.)
Thanks for that Neil!
We are expecting an article from Neil in the near future, so keep an eye out in
the mag.

GLYN PIERCE MEMORIAL TROPHY
Please find below an open letter to all our members:-
Before the last home game of the season WWISC presented a new trophy, the Glyn Pierce Memorial Trophy to the player our members voted the most improved player of the season. This was presented to
Clint Easton. Unfortunately Clint subsequently returned the trophy as he felt it a snub that somebody with his experience and having played at a higher level should be presented with it.
WWISC subsequently wrote to Clint explaining no snub was intended and that the WWISC supporters genuinely thought he was the most improved player of the season.
The trophy came about when Glyn Pierce, who was a long time supporter of the football club and was a member of WWISC since it's inception, sadly passed away earlier last year. Glyn's family kindly donated £1,000 from his estate to our funds. We felt in some way we should honour his memory, and from the money given us we purchased the Glyn Pierce Memorial Trophy.
To-date we have had no response back from Clint relating to the letter we sent him. If we hear anything further from Clint we will up-date the web-site accordingly.
10 May
The WWISC 'AGM' will take
place in the Keen Lounge,Adams Park at 7.45pm for 8pm on Thursday evening the
8th September. The meeting will only be open to WWISC members and we would ask as
many members as possible to attend as there is a lot to discuss including the
reshaping of the committee.

E-mail from our Hungarian Fan
I can't believe it I am in
the Wanderer!!!! It was such a great surprise. Very very nice of you, I
appreciate your thought a lot. Mind you I did get some strange looks when I went
into the Vere Suite to get a pint. In a way it's quite ironic I did not get a
chance to look at the fanzine at the game. We had a nice drink and it felt so
great to be with all those people in Wycombe shirts. Then we went for another
walk around again, a trip to the club shop and then I wanted to go in to see the
boys warming up. I guess I would have been so paranoid if I had known about my
photo. All those people seeing me and then giving me good looks...
And after the game we had to run for the Park & Ride
service.
also we had our translation from
Hungarian back to English and reads like this:
